How I Met Your Mother – The Naked Truth (S07E02)

How I Met Your Mother – The Naked Truth (S07E02)

CBS

The second of the night and it really should have been called “The Sweeping Declaration” as those were the funniest moments of the episode, though there was also the introduction of Edward 40-Hands and Garrison Cootes (aka Martin Short.)  But, the star of the episode had to be Beercules.  Oh and of course the return……

The Good Wife – Taking Control (S02E01)

ABC

Possibly the best new drama from last season is back for season 2.  The big cliff hanger was whether Alicia would choose Peter, her cheater of a husband who’s now running for office again, or her boss, Will, who’s just a great guy (and who was amazing on the short-lived Sports Night.) Who thought Alicia would choose Will? Yeah, me neither.…

Mike And Molly – Pilot (S01E01)

CBS

We haven’t decided whether we will cover this show regularly, but we did want to give a few impressions on the pilot episode.  Hello Fat Jokes.  If you’re offended by them, this was definitely not the show for you.  The first episode wasn’t painfully bad, but it clearly has issues.  The premise is interesting enough to give it another shot, but the cliché machine was pumping on this show.

What Was Written On The Sign At The Church? (HIMYM)

Did everyone catch the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother?  Right after the opening scene, we all see a beautiful church with people arriving for a wedding. As the shot pans over to Ted and Marshall, it goes past the sign at the front of the church. See what it looks like after the break.…

How I Met Your Mother – Big Days (S06E01)

CBS

Season Six has begun for How I Met Your Mother.  For a sitcom it’s got quite a lot of heart at its core and feels strangely alone on a night with Two And A Half Men and the new Lorre edition, Mike and Molly.  It feels more akin to the ABC comedies like Modern Family or Cougar Town.  In this season opener, we were promised some Mother revelations and while there will be people who just want to know the answer, we got enough information to move the story forward.  Oh and did you all catch the writing on …

Two And A Half Men – Three Girls And A Guy Named Bud (S08E01)

CBS

Two And A Half Men is back after a summer-long debate over who the titular half is now referencing.  Despite the rampant Charlie Sheen gossip, which would harm most careers, I doubt this summer’s events will have any impact on the popularity or direction of this show.  With the exception of Jake’s noticeable physical differences, you could have slotted this episode in almost any season and it would hold up well.  And, if you like this show, that’s a good thing.  It’s as funny as ever and still unabashedly crude. Welcome back Harper men–and Berta.…

How I Met Your Mother: Shelter Island (S04E05)

CBS

I’m sure there are those on both sides of the Stella-Ted debate, but whether you think the relationship is good or bad, you have to admit that Stella fits into the show so naturally, it almost feels like there’s no guest star at all.  Recently, the HIMYM team has been throwing Stella negatives to the forefront for the obvious removal of her character from the show, which sucks.  I was hoping she’d stick around somehow and maybe she will..

How I Met Your Mother: The World’s Best Burger (S04E02)

CBS

Great episode tonight. Barney introduced the Chinese-Indian-Mexican race and Lilly had her first Burgasm.  Classic.  Four seasons in, and HIMYM continues to top my list of favourite shows.

Also, did anyone else notice how short Regis is?

The Big Bang Theory: The Bad Fish Paradigm (S02E01)

CBS

Tonight was the official return of TV for me. Until the big shows come out, it’s just a warm-up for the main event.  First up tonight was The Big Bang Theory’s second season launch.

And let me get this out of the way immediately.  The whole Penny & Leoanard idea is just wrong.  It makes me cringe because those two have no chemistry and no business being together.  Leonard pining for Penny seemed more appropriate and worked well within the show.  To me, Penny should have not have been pushed as a love interest but just as a foil …

Million Dollar Password (S01E01)

Two things I learned tonight: 1) Rachel Ray isn’t the brightest mind around 2) Regis Philbin doesn’t know Neil Patrick Harris is gay I’m not old enough to remember the original game show Password, but I have seen an incarnation of Pyramid or $10,000 Pyramid and so I get the general idea of the game. Here’s the general idea: A celebrity is matched up with a regular person. Like charades or pictionary, they are given a word (aka password) to portray to their partner, but in this case, they can only give hints in 1 word doses. For example …
